Knowing your status is one of the most important steps you can take for your health.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are common—and many people who have one don’t know it. Testing is quick, confidential, and helps protect both your health and the health of your partners.

At Choice Family Health Care, we provide testing for STIs, HIV, and Hepatitis C in a respectful, supportive environment. If you’re sexually active, testing is an important part of staying healthy.

What is an STI?

A sexually transmitted infection (STI) is an infection caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi that is spread primarily through sexual contact.

STIs can be passed through:

  • Vaginal, Oral, or Anal sex
  • Skin-to-skin sexual contact
  • Parent to baby during pregnancy

Many STIs do not cause symptoms, especially early on. This means someone can have an infection and pass it to others without knowing.

Common STIs

Chlamydia & HPV
Gonorrhea & Herpes
Syphilis & HIV
Hepatitis B or C

Some STIs are curable with treatment, while others are manageable with medication if detected early.

Why get tested?

Protect your health

Some STIs can lead to serious health problems if untreated, including infertility, chronic pain, organ damage, or complications during pregnancy.

Many STIs have no symptoms

You may feel completely healthy and still have an infection. Testing is the only way to know for sure.

Early treatment is easier

Many infections can be treated quickly if caught early.

Peace of mind

Testing can give you confidence and clarity about your health.

Protect your partners

Knowing your status helps prevent unknowingly passing infections to others.
